The Discover Palestine Festival takes place on July 10th 12.00-4.00 in the Piece Hall; please come and bring as many friends as you can so that Calderdale will understand the level of civic support here for the Palestinians. The visitors stay till 12th, working in Calder High on a dance project, being joined by Halifax High students too, so that they can all perform on the Festival afternoon. Between their arrival and departure, there are a number of opportunities to meet the visitors at some point. We want them to go home feeling that they have been made really welcome so do come along, introduce yourself to them, give them messages of support etc. It will really matter to them to see that lots of people are concerned about their cause.  1. July 6th 7.00pm Reception in Hebden Town Hall, officiated by the Mayor, Robin Dixon.(Some food provided) 2 Wednesday 7th, at 7.00pm talk by some of the youngsters in downstairs conference room of Victoria Theatre, describing their life experiences. A chance to hear first hand what it's like to be a young Palestinian refugee. 3. Thursday July 8th, afternoon from 3.30 in Hebden Bridge (park, walk, games, barge ride) plus a meal in the Rim Nam at 6.30 (Early bird £10 for 2 courses) If you want to come to the meal, please book with the Rim Nam. I have reserved places for those who got in touch after the first invite. 4. Friday July 9th 8.00pm Concert in Square Chapel by Reem Kelani, Palestinian singer, with Aida Camp visitors as guests of honour on front row. Tickets on sale now from Square Chapel.; it should be a fabulous event 5. Festival Afternoon in Piece Hall from 12.00 - 4.00pm PLEASE COME and bring friends.Stalls, music, Dabke dance (Palestinian and local youngsters together), embroidery, food and song (Reem Kelani will conduct a choir of local junior school children singing Palestinian songs!) 6. Day out. Shibden Park from 11.30 am for picnic with hosts and local supporters,all welcome please come, then 10 pin bowling 3.30 Halifax and meal at Himmat. 7. Monday 12th depart for Sheffield.
