- A demonstration on Saturday June 5, starting and ending at Infirmary Fields (Bradford end of Lumb Lane). We will assemble at 12 noon and start the march at 12.30pm. It is expected that the action will conclude at the assembly point at about 2.30pm.
We need volunteers to hand out leaflets about this action on Friday.
- Since a Bradfordian, Mohammed Bhaiyat, was on the ship attacked by gun-firing Israeli commandos, his father is seeking a meeting with his MP, Gerry Sutcliffe, and the foreign secretary, William the Vague, to ensure our colleague's safety.
After today's vigil there will be the regular monthly meeting of Bradford Palestine SolidarityCampaign when we will plan further actions and hopefully elect a new team to put these plans into action. Bradford PSC meetings are at Desmond Tutu House, 2 Ashgrove (opposite Bradford Uni campus) on the first Tuesday of every month, 6.30-8pm. Israel and the Gaza Flotilla
That this House is appalled by the loss of life associated with Israel's attack on the flotilla of ships carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza; notes that UK and other nationals have been held by Israel despite the attack having taken place in international waters; endorses the call of the United Nations Secretary General for a prompt, impartial, credible and transparent investigation conforming to international standards; recognises that Israel's blockade which has destroyed the economy of Gaza and deepened poverty still inflicts widespread suffering and, by imposing collective punishment on the people of Gaza, is itself contrary to international law; and calls on the international community to require Israel to end its blockade and to redouble international efforts to secure a lasting settlement with a secure and independent state of Palestine alongside a secure and independent Israel.

What is an EDM?
Early Day Motion (EDM) is a colloquial term for a notice of motion given by a Member of Parliament for which no date has been fixed for debate. EDMs exist to allow MPs to put on record their opinion on a subject and canvass support for it from fellow Members.
