I have just phoned the BBC number, and was "informed" that the BBC is actually covering it on the online news edition but that, at the moment, the Flotilla is at 25 miles(nautical ones?) off Cyprus and there's nothing to report; the BBC knows everything about the 2 sides...,that they have people on the ground in Gaza, and there'll be an update 18.00hrs today. I remember him of the British nationals on board, and asked him what would be considered newsworthy by the BBC? He repeated his line, and sounded a bit annoyed with the questions. He mentioned that they received "hundreds" of phone calls complaining about the lack of coverage by the BBC, and even thanked me, in a sardonic note, for the trust we all have on BBC reporting....

So, keep on phoning...

Points you may wish to make:

There are a number of British nationals (probably at least 8) on board the flotilla. If asked for names, you can refer to Sarah Colbourne or Alex Harrison.

Based on the previous actions of Israel, there is reason to believe that the welfare of these British nationals may be at risk (Israel’s previous actions in ramming and nearly sinking the Dignity Free Gaza boat in December 2008and in dangerously boarding the Spirit of Humanity in June 2009);

That based on Israel’s previous actions, there is reason to believe that large quantities of humanitarian aid, some of it donated by British people, is at risk of being damaged or destroyed.
